Thursday nights at Tower Bar have been pretty dang fun lately. Big ol' Brian Carver (Christmas island) and I have been bringing our cool ass records and shit. Like not regular records, but magic, fun "you haven't heard these" records. Or maybe "oh I love that!" type records. Meanwhile, Dan Wise has been bringing his bedside manner to bartending for a unique result. Cooool. This is all FREE and fun as fuck. So I don't know...try and come tonight? A Saturday night, god damn it. PRE stands for "penis retarded England". Not really, but that's what they said! Anyway, these noisy nuggets are on their way to San Diego to play with The Muslims at The Tower Bar. Fuck it. These three dudes and a gal are known for their crazy live shows. Homegirl gets all crazy and makes love to the floor and stuff. The Muslims? Not so crazy. These four chaps are the cream of the crop though. Pure songsmen. They're my dogsmen too.

New Band Thin Man Announce Debut And April Residency @ San Diego's Tower Bar

Hey man, new band alert time. Dan Wise, guitarist in Kill Me Tomorrow has a new band in which he is both singer and primary songwriter. Thin Man. The band is also comprised of other San Diego musicians Chris Grundy, John Matttos and James Goldbach. They have recordings up on their Myspace so I won't bother telling you what I think or what they sound like. There's an original and a cover. You can see these fucks 5 times in April at The Tower Bar in San Diego. They'll be residents for all Wednesdays in April playing with a bunch of friends bands and djs. The schedule is posted below for you, you little lovable reader.

Solid Gold SOUL Dance Party This Thursday W/ The Muslims And Fantastic Magic

The second installment of a new soul and oldies dance party is this Thursday @ The Tower Bar. Solid Gold. The Muslims and Fantastic Magic are playing LIVE and Brandon Welchez and myself will be playing the best rare soul and classic favorites to dance to. All 60s, all uptempo scorchers.

It's going to start early so keep that in mind. Also, this is a monthly party taking place on the second Thursday of every month, so fire that in your goddamn domes.

Here's why you should be excited...

Maybe the best thing to happen because of punk, with the exception of a brief halt in concert pyro-technics, is a bunch of girls decided that it would be a good idea to start bands. And it was! The Slits, The Raincoats, Kleenex/Liliput, Maximum Joy, The Mo-dettes...good heavens. For some silly reason, this is an anomoly, and it's not everyday bands come around and remind you that punk is fun, and not done best by boys. Luckily for us, Finally Punk from Austin, Tx is a new band and they're playing tonight at Tower Bar.
