MILK

Fuck I'm lazy. Sometimes I just really don't feel like taking part in this blog-O-thing. And then I snap back, fuck it.

Anyway, I just got back from seeing MILK and am totally inspired and want the world (or the 78 persons that read this daily) to go see it. You must. And after you see it you should tell a friend but more importantly, you should do something to rally people to do something positive. As beautiful as it is to promote human rights and animal rights and those kinds of great issues it can be about music and art too. Have a meeting, start a label, set up a show, organize a rally, SOMETHING. And I don't mean the cheesy Myspace bulletins that for some reason I'm skeptical of the intentions. I mean flier, poster, email, round fools up, start a zine, AND myspace if you really want to. That means you really mean it and are devoted. At least to me it does, and I'm just saying what's on my mind. But back to the issue here. Fuck, you know what? Don't even do that shit if you're not that type of person. Be part of something though. Like support something good. I sound like a fool, but I'm just buzzing from the movie.

You know what's funny, too? I usually HATE when there's applause in movies like the beginning of Star Wars 1 when the silly yellow words scrolled and people went bananas. But when Milk ended and people applauded I kinda liked it. But, no I didn't clap because it's kinda stupid to applaud a movie.

Sooo start with seeing it and if you're alive inside you'll agree. DO SOMETHING.

Oh shit!! I almost forgot! It's crazy how this movie relates so much to the Prop 8 issue. I mean Prop 8 could literally be in it. I think it's moronic nd borderline irresponsible for this movie not to be released a full month before November 4. Actually makes me a little sick.

One Last Wish / Faith/Void Split Reissues

Soooooooooooo, next week Dischord Records is going to reissue two of the best recordings they ever released. 1986's One Last Wish record and the long out of print Faith/Void split (1982). These have been on cd for a long time bit the vinyl has never exsisted for OLW and F/V went out of print god knows when. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic. In celebratory fashion I'm posting my favorite song by OLW, filmed at one of their 6 shows AND Void's Who Are You. Enjoy.

And in parting, there was this girl back in the day here in lovely San Diego that everybody wanted to marry. Not just hook up with, but MARRY. She had a VOID tattoo in her bottom lip.

Big Shows By The Bay / New Music Alert : Dum Dum Girls

I'm super excited about the string of shows this weekend in the bay area. Not just because Crocodiles and I tend to get blackout drunk on these trips, or that we'll make another visit to Rooky Ricardo's in Lower Haight. Not even because it's the birthplace of the 60s (inside joke). The reason I'm super excited is because I was able to coax the reclusive Dum Dum Girls to play these shows. Dum Dum Girls have been pulsing sweet addictive nuggets from my stereo for the weeks since I got this disc in the mail. It doesn't look to be ending anytime soon either. DDG is really just a gal from Los Angeles named Dee Dee. Don't know much about her except she's really polite, painfully shy, makes super good shoe gaze bomb cuts in her room and lives in the city of angels. As polite as she is, don't count on her answering any questions, she won't give up the 411. But, hey, if you're in the bay area this weekend, you can see her in person and share the magic. Listen to this song below and get all into it. There'll be a release soon so look out for it!! In uniform with her steez, there's not any info available on the release except that it's a cd. 7" Singles on Art Fag and HoZac in the coming year too. See ya in the bay Thursday and Friday.

Negative Creep

Fuck this is so good. Boredom brought me here and I'm very thankful. I'd never seen this footage, and I think it has to be the best I've seen of this song. Negative Creep was the first Nirvana song I ever heard and it ranks in my top 10 maybe 5.

I was at a Nirvana in-store much like this one and it was amazing. I got a Smells Like Teen Spirit 12" signed by the band and 10 years later sold it for a thousand dollars. It still kinda makes me sad.

Crass' Walls From 'Stations Of The Crass' 1979

This is one of my favorite Crass songs. A lot of people don't even realize Crass made a song like this. Walls (Fun In The Oven). It's from Stations Of The Crass (1979) and if you don't have it you should get with the program. The video below is fan made, sure but it is done kinda well and fits with the lyrics, you know what I mean? I'm just tying to give something to enjoy is all. Some visuals or something. But I think I can promise video or no video you will love this song. Joy De Vivre's vocals are perfect. I used to sing along like "toodah toodah toodah toodah toodah toodah toodah toodah", but so that you won't go through the same shame, I put the lyrics down below. C-Ya.

...desire, desire, desire, desire,
Desire, desire, desire, desire,
Desire, desire, desire, desire,
Describe, desire, defile, deny.
Defile, desire, deny, desire.
Describe, describe, describe, describe.
No air to breath inside your walls,
Left to dream inside your walls.
Left us in a wilderness,
Well I can make my paradise.
Without your walls I am alive,
No body I, in rank and file.
Girl and boy and man and wife,
Flesh your measure with a smile.
Have and hold and hold and have,
Have and hold and hold and have.
Desire, deny, deny, desire,
Have a child to justify.
Images that you apply,
I won't bow my head in shame.
I won't play the game the same,
Without your walls I am alive.
Without your walls we all survive,
Without your walls no guilt to bear.
Without your love, our love to share,
Without your walls I am alive.
Without your walls I am alive.
Without your walls I am alive.
WITHOUT YOUR WALLS I AM ALIVE...

Mobile Again

Jesus Christmas, after EXACTLY 1 1/2 years without a vehicle (R.I.P. '87 Cadillac w/ perfect leather interior), I now have one of these god damned things. The Vespa LXV 150 in sienna. I call it cream, beige or tan, but they call it sienna because evidently it's fancier. Fuck, this is going to be fun.

Check out these cool commercials.

Jess Holzworth / Awesome Art / New Beck Video

Some years ago I had a night thing here in in San Diego called Contort. We played all kinds of loud, noisy, crazy crap and it was a lotta fun. When I needed a flier my friend Jess, who was an already accomplished artist but kept it on the down low, volunteered to make it for me. What came of it was an offensive, beautiful masterpiece. A collage of porn, wild animals, duct tape and glitter. If my scanner wasn't on the fritz, I would scan it in below. Maybe in the near future I'll take it over to FedexOffice/Kinko's/Kinko's Office Depot. In the meantime, check these similar "pieces" she's created not too long ago.

So, the reason I'm bringing this up, is because Jess has recently directed her first video for Beck, and it's seriously that flier, or the rest of her art come too life. Substitute the porno star with Jess' pal Chloe Sevigny. The song's kind of, "eh", but the video is TOP NOTCH. Alright Jess!!

"Gamma Ray" Directed by Jess Holzworth

Beck - Gamma Ray

The only way to see it hi quality is thru Myspace for some reason. Must be some exclusive shit. And like I said, I'll post her old fliers she made for me soon!!

U.S. Tour Photo Diary

Phoenix, Arizona - This was the first night of the trip. Chuck got us in some trouble with the locals.

Wichita, Kansas - This is the biggest cat I've ever seen. HIs name is Frankie. He looked like one of those internet hoaxes, but in the flesh, right in front of my eyes. The kids we met and stayed with were rad. We had a blast staying up and partying but when it came time for bed, I realized I forgot a blanket. They had none to provide either. It was freezing cold and I was bummed, but Frankie came over and laid on my back. I'm not kidding. It was perfect, he was big enough to basically cover me like a blanket.

I can't remember what city this was. Somewhere in the midwest. We got to a motel super late after the show and this little guy came bounding over to us. He had no collar on and it was raining. I asked the clerk if he belonged to any of the tenants and the guy said no. He suggested we just leave the dog alone, but we were right next to a freeway, so we decided to have him spend the night with us. He was the friendliest dog and obviously someone's pet as he was clean and groomed and had a cowlick on his neck from where a collar usually was. We didn't know what the right thing to do was but we knew we didn't want him to go the pound and get killed. We considered taking him with us for the rest of the tour, but bars and basements with loud music are no place for dogs. In the end we found a no-kill shelter who picked him up in the morning. I hope he got reunited with his owners.

St. Louis, Missouri - This is the part of the trip where Chuck and I coordinated contorting our mouths in unison. Just kidding, but seriously, look how stupid both of our mouths look.
We stayed with an old, dear friend, Tony. He took most of these pictures. He also took us downtown to dance.

Kilmarnock, Virginia - Chuck's birthday. We stayed with his grandparents for two days and ate real meals and slept in real beds. It was amazing. The icing on the cake was that his grandparents bought him icing and a cake on his birthday.

New York, New York - We were here for 4 or 5 days and got to see lots of friends and family and stuff. One night, an impromptu game of street soccer took place. Our friend Freddy bought a soccer ball off some dude in Manhattan and 4 or 5 us had a moving game of soccer as we made our way down Houston Street. Every so often a group of strangers would join us for 10 minutes or so before getting to their destination.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Election night! We played an election watch party and got to see history unfold with a bunch of nice folks. After Obama's win was confirmed the mood was extremely jubilant. Anyone in a band who's reading this: Play Soundpony in Tulsa. The staff are super nice as are the locals. They took really good care of us and we made some great friends, such as Kelley, the gentleman with the beard. He had been in a bunch of Tulsa, Phoenix and New York punk bands in the late seventies and early eighties. Also, the cat at the end's name is Kitler. As in, "Adolf Kitler".

Video Rewind : The Wagon By Dinosaur jr

This old nugget of pure slacker goodness. I'm so bummed I sold my purple Dinosaur Jr shirt. It would looked nice on me now. I could listen to all of the albums from 85-94 all day long and not get sick of 'em. Although the SST ones are more popular and have a distictly different sound, this single has a special place en mi corazon.

Happy Yet Bummed

I live in California, so you need to know about CA to understand this blog-O-rama.

I'm so happy about Barack Obama winning. I can't describe it. I want yesterday to happen 10 days in a row and I want that speech to last 3 hours and i want to have been in Grant Park. ECSTATIC. (I also want to weep with Jesse Jackson and Oprah and Steadman.) And Joe Biden's granddaughter is the cutest little chubby cheeked bundle I've seen in ages.

Prop 4 makes me happy too. People get it, but so many don't. Can you imagine this deal was denied by just 52% or some shit? I hate religion.

Prop 2 cool. And 60 some thing percent. Well done. You'll have to pay a penny more for your disgusting eggs but at least you may feel better about it? God damn, eggs are nasty.

PROP EIGHT. What in the hell. This is so fucking sad. What happened? Was it the horrible and misleading commercials that ran the last week? Is California seriously homophobic? It has nothing to do with straight marriage! You are not threatened at ALL. I'm so sad because when California made it OK for gays to marry, i was in San Francisco and the city was electric. So happy and positive that government can do the right thing sometimes. Evidently unless the people don't want it too.

Lastly and least importantly, if you visit San Diego you won't be able to enjoy a can of suds on the beach or any park. Weird right?

The Strange Boys In San Diego Nov 8 (And More)

Whoa. Total hiatus. Sorry 'bout that.

November is looking like its going to be a really busy month. I'm especially excited about this show on Saturday, here in San Diego. The Strange Boys are coming to San Diego, Crocodiles are coming back to San Diego after a month long tour, and Christmas Island (who are always magic and fun) are playing. A new band The Anasazis are opening. Fun right?

Also:

November 17 / Grand Ole Party, Vivian Girls, Nodzz, Love Is All and "DJ" Mario Orduno @ The Casbah in San Diego

November 20 / Crocodiles, Dum Dum Girls and DJ Mario Orduno @ The Knockout in San Francisco

Fun right?

Lastly, Audrina's got massive boobs and I can't believe it's election day. What a long fucking campaign this was. Remember the Youtube debates? That shit was July 2007.

New Cold Cave Song

There's a (fantastic) new Cold Cave song posted from the forthcoming 7" on Hospital Records entitled Painted Nails on the ol' Myspace. Check that and the other gems on there. Philadelphia's Wes Eisold has been busy a fuck lately with Heartworm Press, Cold Cave's three releases, Ye Olde Maids upcoming LP, and opening a new bookstore/art space called Juanita & Juan's. All great stuff.

Cold Cave also has a show booked for November 8 in NYC at Rehab (3rd St & Ave B). 5 bucks.

New Blank Dogs Video For 'Pieces'

Here's the new video just released by Blank Dogs. It's for the song "Pieces" off the lp "On Both Sides". This lp has been on repeat in my house for a while now. You can download it for free on his site, www.blankdogs.blogspot.com, or buy the lp from Trouble Man Unlimited. I say do both.

Chin Chin

Fuck man, so last week I went nuts and got into a bidding war for this Black Tambourine 10". I lost my mind. I was bidding money I didn't even HAVE. And then I lost. My heart was racing and I got all sad. Then I was relieved for sure. Fuck that record. But there came a positive. The seller wrote me a message telling me if I love Black Tambourine, then I should check out a Swiss band called Chin Chin. They were an all girl band from the early eighties. Very good. Kinda like Girls At Our Best. I don't know much info. There was an lp and a 12" ep. But check this crap below on the youtubes and if you like it, you can download that 12" ep called Stop! Your Crying using that link below.

Fun Under The San Diego Sun

DISCLAIMER. This is a blog posting (blogging?) for the readers in San Diego, California. So all you readers in Darfur, Sheffield and Manitoba, please scroll down and read about PENS. If you are from my beloved San Diego, then read on my lucky friend, here's something really dumb and special.

Thursday nights at Tower Bar have been pretty dang fun lately. Big ol' Brian Carver (Christmas island) and I have been bringing our cool ass records and shit. Like not regular records, but magic, fun "you haven't heard these" records. Or maybe "oh I love that!" type records. Meanwhile, Dan Wise has been bringing his bedside manner to bartending for a unique result. Cooool. This is all FREE and fun as fuck. So I don't know...try and come tonight? Well, if you need more convincing, here are a couple pics from last week

C-ya there??!!

PENS

This is my new shit. PENS from the Englands. United Kinksdom. 3 lo-fi punks with a keyboard. Super melodic, super infectious and super just plain ol' rad. Of their three songs on their Myspace thingamajigger I think Freddie is my favorite. Or fuck is it High In The Cinema? Whatever, all three jams are just that...JAMS. So check this shit and don't waste time. They have a cassette about to be available, a 7" in 3 monthsish time and an lp coming in February '09 on Destijl Records. Save yr cash moneys and buy. Who knows, maybe a California Dreamin' tour could be on the horizon for these fuzzy melody machines. For my sake. One could only hope.

Nite Jewel / New Video

The syrupy synth sister, Nite Jewel, just released this video for "Artificial Intelligence". Both song and video are top notch in my book. Excited about her new record on Italians Do It Better! I'm even more excited for her and her ridiculously cool upcoming tour with Deerhunter and Times New Viking. What the hell??? Expect big things...

F'n Melodies 'N' Harmonies

Tonight, Dan was driving me home from Too Many Creeps (it was ok) and on the old mainframe was "Ragdoll" by The Quick. Man this song is fucking badass slash perfect. The Four Seasons did it so well and then these goddamn LA glam fools did it such justice. The shit is mega rare too. I don't know what kind of virus filled website he got it from but I'm not going there. This thing cost 2000 bucks. Instead, cuz I need to share, I'm going to post the busted 70's lip synched version. Mainly cuz I don't give a care.

But the thing is, when you have magic, it don't matter none if it's 70s-ized OR lip synched. It's still magic.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING Vol 1: Working With Kids / Drug Addict Neighbors

Let me tell you a little about my life: I work 40 hours a week at a special education school. I'm a substitute. Our school serves a HUGE population. What that means is; Monday - i may be working with really sweet, nice 13 year old kids with Downs Syndrome. Tuesday - I may be hanging out with energetic, tough, but fun 6 year olds with schizophrenia. Wednesday my day is spent with 17 and 18 year old sufferers of various conduct disorders with claims and/or ties to various sets of Crips or Bloods. My point being - I don't typically have easy days. If I'm not being spit at or bit, I'm being swung at or called a faggot.
That being said, I live across the street from the gnarliest of drug addicted/dealing neighbors. Today for example: I was on my side yard (SIDE YARD) spray painting Crocodiles shirts ( we can't afford to have screen printed nice shirts made ). This was at 4 pm, after working from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. This wasn't an easy task - I had to carefully lay out a blank white t-shirt, carefully place a fragile stencil and carefully spray paint over it. After that was done, I had to carefully remove the stencil as to not drag paint over the design and then carefully lay it out to dry, before carefully washing and drying it. The whole time I was doing this, I had a humongous meth addict in a rocking chair laughing at me and heckling me. This fatso was screaming such gems as: "When can I get a shirt" and "You look like you're working hard". Thanks for the observations, Queen Chunk. My life isn't hard enough without Junior Seau in heels yodeling at me from across the way. If I wanted your opinion - you waste of a yard - I would foster a drug addiction and buy speed from that old piece of shit you call a husband. Seriously - I've never met a Grandpa more deserving of death. What does that piece of trash bring to this world but new strands of drugs to shoot/sell/produce in front of the baby that has the misfortune of living there? And seriously - when I'm in my 60's; please let me never fraternize with gross, scabby ex-cons who look like modern day Vanilla Ices ( read: dress like 13 year olds ) that populate your nasty ass yard. I'm super stoked that I have a little slice of Appalachia 40 feet away from me. I'm not kidding, some fucking jerk pro-dirtbike looking fuck was throwing acorns at me from across the street today. Fucking acorns. I live in San Diego. As far as I know acorns don't even grow here. This piece of white shit cultivated that shit to fuck with me cuz I actually wake up and work for a living. Fuck him. I can't wait till that fucking house blows up and takes Korn and methpa and the fat heckler with it. My life is hard enough as it is - I don't need West Virginia across the street to fuck with me and make it worse.

Crocodiles U.S. Tour Starts Tomorrow

Crocodiles start their tour tomorrow. Check the dates in your area, then go to the shows, pay admission fees and buy stuff. Handmade tour tees are going to be a big hit I just know it. Also, if you see a "NEED HELP" on your city's date, you could be a saviour and God's warrior by helping them get a paying show. Have a party and pass the hat even. So, lucky for you America, Crocs are coming.

White Crystal Wolves

Hey if any of you out there are starting a band and need a name, go ahead and ask me and I'll help you out. I bet you I can come up with something real nice. Something without the word "crystal" or "wolf". What the fuck. So, so far we have Crystal Castles, Crystal Antlers, Crystal Stilts and Twin Crystals. Oh, and don't forget 60s group The Crystals and 80s gay heroine Crystal Waters (does that one count?). Well guess what!? Today I read about Crystal Moustaches. C'mon now. It's getting stupid. Crystal Moustaches? What's next, Wolf Crystals?

And on a similar note, I see White being the next word. We already got White Magic and I'm kind of excited for the new PPM record by White Shit (best current band name).

The Enemy - Pull Down The Shade - More Kiwi Magic

Man, this song is the jam cut. The bomb track. The Enemy's "Pull Down The Shade". 1978? 77? Anyway, The Enemy featured Chris Knox, and he was responsible for recording all the bad ass New Zealand stuff on Flying Nun. He used his 4 track to make brilliant recordings by The Clean, Verlaines and the rest onf the "Dunedin Sound". Anyay, this is pure punk magic.

Last Thursday I was playing records with my friend Brian at The Tower Bar here in San Diego. I was outside hanging out when heard the jangliest piece of pop ever. Well, not ever, but it felt that way. It was "Death And The Maiden" by Verlaines. Fuck this shit is good. They are from New Zealand and this single came out in 1983 on the indie Flying Nun. I got this cd called Juvenilia with all the early pre lp singles and it's so ridiculously jangly and good. Fucking kiwis. I'm obessed with this shit now. All the that Flying Nun crap: The Chills, The Bats, Verlaines and The Clean. All that shit. Check the god damned bunny hopping all around in the video. It's just cool to have a perfect song and then top it off with a bunny. It just IS.

Nicolle Meyer : Nowhere Bei Mir

A couple of years ago, I bought a really cool record called GRLZ. It's an import 2xLP compilation of post punk / new wave songs fronted by gals. It's really good. It has Delta 5, The Slits, New Age Steppers, Ludus and a bunch more. There really isn't a turkey on it. But one that's always stood out especially for me is a song called Nowhere Bei Mir by Nicolle Meyer. It's dark and haunting new wave. A slow build with all these instruments like accordian and horns playing along with synth and drums. In short, it's perfect. For the most part she's a mystery to me. I know she played drums and sang in a band called Fred Banana Combo, in fact I think that might even be who the song's by actually. Anyway, this shit's from 1982. Oh, and that comp is still available if you want to get one. It's on Crippled Dick Hot Wax (And you thought Art Fag was a bad name.).

Oh!! And if you youtube "Fred Banana Combo" you can hear more amazing songs from this gal. Lastly, if you want to gimme some fun facts, feel free. I want to know more about the band, the gal and their releases.

Television Personalities Documentary

Here's a pretty cool TVP's documentary. The first part is especially cool, but it starts to go a little downhill from there. It would have been better if they focused more on Dan Treacy the Musician, and not Dan Treacy the Drug Addict, but oh well. It's also weird that Dan Treacy likes the Killers, considering they suck hard, hairy cocks. The final part of this doc wasn't working, so I didn't post it, but if you dig this documentary check youtube once in a while cuz I'm sure whoever uploaded these will put that one back up too.

Psycho Stick

When I was a kid I skated for like 3 months. I just didn't get into it like everyone else did. But for that one summer that I wanted to be in Bones Brigade, I got this eyesore. The Psycho Stick by Vision. Dude. I got it with all the amenities too. Clear grip tape with "Slimeballs" sticker underneath, rail guards, tail guard and even those weird guards that went on the trucks. I had Gullwing trucks and Slimeball wheels. Ha, how embarassing. And that shit was expensive. My poor parents...it's in their garage looking brand new. The only wear on it came from leaving it in the rain. And don't get me wrong, I loved skating...from the couch and via videos. Does anyone have that 1989/90 Zorlac video? I loved that video.

Rad, 1986

Last night I watched Thrashin'. That movie rules, sure sure. Everyone knows that. But it got me thinking of the Holy Trinity. The Holy Trinity of movis, to me, is Thrashin', Rad, and North Shore. Fuck, I loved those movies. I got my parents to take me to see North Shore on my birthday. What a day. But Rad I think was my favorite. It is so bad it's good. It's got the gal from Full House, Adrian from Rocky, that bitch Bart Conner from the 1984 U.S. gymnastic team, that old man that used to be in My Favorite Martian, and who could forget Bill Allen (?) as Cru Jones. I love you Cru Jones, you're a bad ass.

Ulysses Speaks!

So yesterday, I tossed the ol' Nation Of Ulysses "13 Point Program..." long player. Few records hit the spot like this ol' magic piece of work. So I was like trippin' and having a good ol' time and all these memories and fun facts were swirling around when, BANG, I remembered reading about the Ulysses Speaks! zine that NOU used to make. Unfortunately I never got/read one so I thought I'd peruse the ol' webmac to see what I could find. BANG, I found some cool shit. If you're not familiar with NOU, then you're fucked because this is not learning time...it's fun time. But you have, right? Oh dear. If not, then pretend. So NOU put out this zine and it's wonderful. Super cool. Well, there's a blog up dedicated to it and it's creatively called..uh... Ulysses Speaks!. Whoever runs this thing has scanned a bunch of the original zines. You can click 'em and like magic they grow to a reading type size. So go!! Go be cool for a minute. And when you're done, come back over here and watch the vid below and see why Nation Of Ulysses has always been so dear to my heart.

Willy Graves 1980-2008

Over the weekend, a dear friend passed away. Willy Graves. He was the bass player for The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower and The Prayers. To anybody who ever had the privilege to spend any time with him, he was FAR more. A funny, lovable, kind, talented and beautiful person. We spoke too little toward the time of his death, as he moved away a bit ago. But when we were together things were so great. We spent so many great times together. So many. I'm going to miss laughing with him. I'm going to miss the times he listened to a problem and really saw a positive I could feel good about. I'm going to miss his sometimes CRAZY driving in the van. I'm going to miss giving him a hug and saying, "What's Up Bill.". I'm going to miss him playing music. I'm going to miss seeing his kind and warm face. Willy did not have a mean bone in his body. Really. He never ever did a messed up thing to anybody. That's rare right? Somebody's always bustin' on somebody. Not Willy. He was just nothing but sweetness to anybody he met. Willy was a big part of our lives here, and we're really going to have a hard time and we'll always have a hole in our hearts.

I'll always love you Willy. And so will so many others. xoxo.

The F'n Kinks

There was a time about a year ago that ALL I would listen to was The Kinks. The late 60s period. God it is so addictive. This lil' gem here is one of my faves. Sung by Dave Davies (and actually originally as a solo single), it's from the 1966 lp, Something Else. Probably one of the best lps of all time. I think I've reverted to that trend from a year ago.

Ok fuck it. Here's a bonus jam cut. Autumn Almanac. The fuckin' Kinks right? RIGHT?

Video Rewind : Am I Demon By Danzig

I go back and forth between deeming this shit as hilarious crap and just plain ol' bad ass. I mostly think it's funny though. The drummer beating his drums like a big gorilla cracks me up. These fucking guys. John Christ, Eerie Von, Chuck Biscuits and Glenn Danzig. Get the fuck OUTTA here. Hey, anybody know what in the hell Danzig says between 2:16 and 2:28?

Editor's Note: Sorry for posting Twist of Cain by accident. I had shot up a ton of heroin and made a mistake. Enjoy Am I Demon.

The Strange Boys / Crystal Antlers In San Diego Tonight

I just got back from San Francisco where this tour stopped off on Tuesday. Let me tell you these bands are ridiculous. The Strange Boys are perfect rock & roll but completely warped and completely and oddly perfect. They cover a James Brown song. Not only does that take balls, but to make it sound bad ass is a quite the accomplishment. And Crystal Antlers? Hard to describe but their freaky and loud prog blew me away.

So if you're in the greater San Diego area tonight, come to see this most special show!! It's only 5 bucks. And there will be dick jockeys all night long in addition to the groups. Don't you just love groups?

In Light Of The Attacks

Our annual opportunity to hear Delfin Quishpe's take on the whole "USA attacks" debacle. (USA attacks is how Martin Lawrence referred to 9/11 so eloquently on his masterpiece, Runteldat.)

And f it, here's our annual round up of rididculous "patriotic" and anti Osama Bin Laden bullcrap.
