Italian Beach Babes is a label run by Conan Roberts of Graffiti island. The label is gearing up for a monster of a release. The GG Allin tribute 7" featiuring PENS, Male Bonding, Fair Ohs and Graffiti Island. This comes just in time for me, not only because I'm currently obsessed with the naked one, but all these bands on the record are amongst my favorites recently. Seeing G.I. & PENS 7 times iin 10 days was a massive treat recently on the Art Fag 7" tour. Anyway, you can preorder this nugg over at IBB's website.

Preorder PENS' Debut LP

You can now preorder what is sure to be one of the best records of the year. PENS' debut lp, "Hey Friend, What You Doing" on De Stijl Records. The record comes out on September 14. I've been waiting on this lp forever and I'm psyched. 'High In The Cinema' is one of my longstanding favorite songs since I heard it last year, and I'm sure it will be yours too. I think...it should be.. Ok go preorder!

Amelia Braekke-Dfyer's Art Is Rad

Amelia Braekke-Dfyer is a London artist and member of noisy trio PENS. Her drawerings are bad ass. She does posters, fliers, cassette covers, record covers and all kinds of cool stuff. She's actually doing the sleeve for the upcoming PENS, Crocodiles, Dum Dum Girls, Graffiti Island split 7" (Art Fag). So go take a peak at her Flckr thing. There's all kinds of cool shit there.

Hey man. How are you? It's been a while. I just didn't feel like it. The end of the year sucked right? I was jonesing for 2009 bad. And here it is. what better excuse for starting it up again than sitting here at 11:55 on a Friday night, right? So anyway. Ecstatic about this year for real. Art Fag Recordings is up to a LOT in the next three months. Soft Pack live lp, Ye Olde Maids lp, and the split 7" with PENS (London), Crocodiles (San Diego), Dum Dum Girls (Los Angeles) and best Fwends (Austin). All that shit's limited and vinyl only buster brown. Dum Dum Girls have a slew of records coming out including ones on labels Hozac, Captured Tracks and the aforementioned Art Fag release. Crocodiles are doing crazy shit too, with a new single on Down In The Ground which also features Cold Cave and Blessure Grave. They have two tours in Jan and Mar as well as an lp coming out on a yet to be announced label (stay tuned buster brown). More? Ok. Christmas Island is set to release their lp on In The Red. More? Wavves is soon releasing his lp on Fat Possum as well as a big ol' Euro tour and US tour in Feb and Mar. Magic. California magic. It's good to be back buster brown. xo

This is my new shit. PENS from the Englands. United Kinksdom. 3 lo-fi punks with a keyboard. Super melodic, super infectious and super just plain ol' rad. Of their three songs on their Myspace thingamajigger I think Freddie is my favorite. Or fuck is it High In The Cinema? Whatever, all three jams are just that...JAMS. So check this shit and don't waste time. They have a cassette about to be available, a 7" in 3 monthsish time and an lp coming in February '09 on Destijl Records. Save yr cash moneys and buy. Who knows, maybe a California Dreamin' tour could be on the horizon for these fuzzy melody machines. For my sake. One could only hope.
